Some Local Authorities now too cash strapped to offer Pest Control

The days when a homeowner or a business owner could call their local authority for a swift response to eradicate or manage a pest on their premises are no longer guaranteed according to a report from The British Pest Control Association. There has been a downward trend in the number of local authorities offering pest control. 73 out of the 364 local authorities surveyed offered no pest control whilst 73 said their pest control services were contracted to third party companies. Of the 292 currently offering a pest control service 16 said they would not be offering this service in 2018. 92% of local authorities offering a pest control service now demand a charge.

Home owners and businesses in those areas where there is no pest control service from their local authority are encouraged to look in the Yellow Pages or contact the British Pest Control Association/National Pest Technicians Association.
