Bedbugs really do bite…

Trip Advisor has become a well regarded site for happy and unhappy guests to record their experience, often with accompanying images for all to see. Increasingly pests are making their appearance in the reviews. Here’s an extract from a one star review centring on a horrific bedbug infestation in a well known London hotel.

“We woke up one morning with brown stains on the sheets and pillow…we just thought it was dirt from our suitcases…another day we actually saw a bed bug crawling on the sheet (but did not realize that is what it was) and just killed it and did not think much about it… four days into our stay we even had them change our sheets…Now knowing that the room was infested with bed bugs, it makes me really angry because I believe they know they have beg bugs because they could not have missed the stains all over the sheets while they were changing them. The last night must have been the worst because there was large area at the head of the bed next to the wall that was covered in faeces stains from the bed bugs.”

“Every hotel in the UK should have a robust pest prevention and pest control contract in place, serviced by a BPCA approved pest contractor,” said Ralph Izod, Managing Director, Dyno-Pest. “This truly shocking example shows what happens when a hotel cuts costs by ignoring a pest problem. With the quality of specialist advice, expertise and chemical free treatments on offer this level of ignorance is not unacceptable.”
